The COVID-19 outbreak has sparked a global surge in remote working to minimize contact and the risk of infection, but along with the convenience of collaborating online, cybersecurity has become a major concern for companies that depend on business data privacy.
According to Global Market Insights, the size of the cyber security market is expected to grow to US$300 billion by 2024, resulting from increasing cyberattacks and unprotected IoT devices and services.
Taiwan has long been a specialist in cybersecurity solutions, including firewalls, UTM and network security hardware platforms, backend and mobile device protection (fingerprint identification chips, TPM modules), IoT security (gateways), and cybersecurity system services (cybersecurity inspection, operation management).
As an ICT powerhouse, Taiwan's cybersecurity output value in 2019 was US$1.64 billion dollars, an increase by 12.3% compared to the previous year. Two major drivers of the increase were cybersecurity network hardware and cybersecurity services.
The following are some of the most popular 2020 Taiwan Excellence Award winning cybersecurity solutions:
- ZYXEL AiShield, a cloud-based security log retention service. By enabling AiShield, you'll be able to identify all your connected devices, preventing malware, phishing, hacker attacks/threats.
- VIVOTEK offered the world’s leading end to end Cybersecurity Management Solution. This solution provides a robust shield that starts from the front-end network camera (IT9389-HT), to network video recorder (ND9541P), and to the back-end video management software (VAST 2), allowing users to respond faster to threats and minimize cyber risks in IP surveillance networks.
- Edgecore Networks, a leading provider of network solutions for enterprises, data centers, and telecommunication, introduced the latest L2+/Lite L3 10G Ethernet Aggregation switch — the ECS5520-18X, a high-performance 10GbE managed switch with two 40GbE uplink ports and enhanced cyber security features, designed for carrier/enterprise aggregation or small top-of-rack data center.
- Advantech launched a Mini UTM (Unified Threat Management) SRP (Solution Ready Package) to help customers counter network security threats. The mini UTM simplifies universal customer premise equipment installations, providing general UTM functionalities like firewall, antivirus, content filtering, and supporting router and switch configurations.
COMPUTEX, one of the global leading ICT shows, to take place in Taiwan, will focus on top ICT trends such as AI & IoT, 5G, Edge Computing, Innovations & Startups, Gaming as well as Cybersecurity. Visitors will see the latest cybersecurity solutions by global exhibitors in addition to those above.
